Vice President, Systems Engineering & Integration
The Engineering & Technical Services (ETS) Sector delivers Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) and Engineering Services to the DoD and Intelligence Community. The SE&I portfolio within ETS primarily support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) delivering systems engineering, integration, test, and a myriad of other support. This role will have the charter to grow beyond MDA and extend the engineering support provided to the MDA to the broader DoD.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations for a $200M+ engineering services business, delivery, execution, and staffing with total accountability for all financial objectives.
Build and foster a culture of growth and stretching the organization to expand beyond existing program and customer base.
Own all aspects of strategy and growth for the business area partnering with Business Development to win new programs.
lead and drive process improvements, margin expansion, and other initiatives to improve overall operation of the business.
Partner across LeParsons to bring capabilities from other parts of the business to the SE&I market to drive competitive advantage.
Drives and completes month, quarterly, and annual operating rhythms and deliverables regarding the strategy, growth, and operation of the business.
Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems, and identifies profit opportunities for all units within profit center. Participates in development of policies and procedures related to the operations of the profit center. In line with corporate business objectives, establishes short and long-term operating and financial objectives for profit center.
Ensures that approved policies and established objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied in all operating units within the profit center.
Reviews and approves operating plans, programs, capital, and expense budgets submitted by operating units within profit center.
Measures the results of each operating unit’s activities against established schedules and financial objectives.
Ensures that the organizational structure of each operating unit is efficiently planned and adequately and competently staffed. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
B.S. degree in science or engineering or in a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience with an emphasis on defense business development / growth and profit and loss leadership experience.
Department of defense domain knowledge.
Proven track record of business growth to include re-compete wins and capture of major strategic pursuits > $100M.
Demonstrated ability to drive margin expansion.
Strong familiarity with systems engineering methods and techniques as well as implementing Digital Engineering methods.
Possess a minimum of an active secret clearance and clearable to a TS/SCI clearance.
Strong financial acumen; MBA and/or financial training desirable but not required.
